Every month since 2017, in one block
The land is on top. Each layer under it is one month, with the first at the bottom. Turn it, cut into it, and go back to any month. Start with the steps below.
- Drag to turn the block.
- Tap the top to cut down there and read that spot below.
- Tap a wall to go back to that month.

Where the land dropped to a new level and stayed there, or dropped and came back, the patch is marked with the window it happened in: the last clear look before and the first clear look after. 31 December 2020 is the date that deforestation-free supply rules look back to.

each bar runs from the last clear look before to the first afterEvery year, one under the other
Each row is a year, January to December. Rain for the area is on the left, the land on the right. Read down a column to compare the same weeks across the years.

How each part of the land behaves
Three readings for every patch of ground: how it moves through the year, whether it is greening or browning, and where water sits.

since 2018Every clear look, and what was usual
Each dot is one clear look at the land; fainter dots saw less of it. The line is the land, the dashed line its usual year. Below it, the land against its own normal, gold above and rust below, with the rain underneath.
Which cycles the land keeps
Read it left to right, from 2017 to today. Each row is a rhythm, from a few weeks at the bottom to two years at the top. A bright row means the land kept that rhythm in the two years around that date. Land that follows the rains burns one bright row at one year.
